Erasmus+ Staff Training Week : administration at the heart of the student experience

From October 20 to 24, 2025, the University of Tours hosted the NEOLAiA Staff Training Week entitled ‘The role of administration in the student's experience’ at the Tanneurs campus.

This event, organised on the initiative of the administrative staff of the Faculty of Literature and Languages, brought together colleagues from partner universities in the NEOLAiA European alliance with a common goal: to promote and strengthen the key role of administration in supporting the student community throughout their university career.

A week rich in exchanges and discoveries

This training course, certified as an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), combines a preparatory online phase, five days of face-to-face meetings in Tours and post-mobility follow-up.

Conferences, collaborative workshops and themed visits enabled participants and administrative staff from Les Tanneurs to explore the many facets of administrative support for students in the following areas:

• organisation of Erasmus mobility and academic recognition,
• inclusion and support for people with special needs,
• the role of administration in campus life,
• management of crisis or tense situations.

The Staff Week was a space for intercultural exchange and best practices. Participants were able to discover the organisation of the University of Tours, the rich heritage and culture of our region, and forge lasting links for future collaborations.

An initiative serving the NEOLAiA community

This Staff Week is the first step in the implementation of WP4 ‘Launching and sustaining the NEOLAiA Staff Mobility for Training’.

In this context, the NEOLAiA alliance supports the creation of networks of administrative staff who will meet regularly via video conference and during an annual Staff Week. This initiative aims to:

• strengthen the skills and expertise of administrative teams,
• promote cooperation and the sharing of practices between universities,
• contribute to the continuous improvement of student support processes.

Each university in the alliance will be responsible for coordinating an administrative network.

A collaborative and inspiring dynamic

Through this initiative, the University of Tours affirms its commitment to professional training for staff and recognition of the structuring role of the NEOLAiA alliance for all its components and services.

Participants leave enriched with new knowledge, concrete tools and a shared vision of the role of administration in student success.
