NEOLAiA is launching its very first Teaching Café, a friendly and interactive event designed to bring together teachers, researchers, PhD candidates, and staff involved in teaching and pedagogical support. This inaugural session will focus on experiences from organising a Focus Academy in a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) format within the alliance.

A Space for Peer-to-Peer Exchange

The NEOLAiA Teaching Café offers an informal, open space to talk about teaching with colleagues: what works, what inspires, and what could be improved. Each session, lasting 60 to 90 minutes, includes:
  • A presentation of a teaching practice or pedagogical project by one or more speakers;
  • An open discussion allowing participants to exchange views, ask questions, and share their own experiences.
To encourage honest and spontaneous conversation, sessions are not recorded.

Theme of the First Edition: Organising a Focus Academy ina BIP Format

To launch this new format, three colleagues from Örebro University will share their hands-on experience:
  • Kai Wistrand, Senior Lecturer in Informatics
  • Panagiota Chatzipetrou, Associate Professor in Informatics
  • Shang Gao, Associate Professor in Informatics.
Their insights from coordinating a Focus Academy within NEOLAiA will provide concrete ideas for designing, delivering, and improving international hybrid learning opportunities.
