NEOLAiA - Teaching and Learning Highlights at the start of 2026

At the beginning of 2026, the University of Tours continues its commitment to inclusive and sustainable internationalisation of teaching and learning within the framework of the NEOLAiA European University Alliance. Two key initiatives are shaping this dynamic: the launch of the Virtual Courses & COIL Call for Projects 2026–2027, and a new programme of online activities offered by the NEOLAiA Pedagogical Hub. These initiatives are open to all teaching staff, regardless of discipline or level of experience in international projects.
Virtual courses & COIL 2026-2027
As part of the NEOLAiA project, the University of Tours is launching a call for projects aimed at strengthening the international dimension of degree programmes through COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) initiatives and the sharing of a joint catalogue of online courses across NEOLAiA partner universities. These projects make it possible to embed an international dimension directly within teaching activities, by enabling students to collaborate online with peers from other European universities, within a structured and academically recognised framework.
The call is open to all teaching staff at the University of Tours, whether new to international initiatives or already experienced, and may involve:
- opening an existing online course to students from partner universities within the NEOLAiA Alliance,
- integrating international online collaborative activities (workshops, case studies, projects, debates, etc.) into an existing on-campus course included in the curriculum.

NEOLAiA Pedagogical Hub : a programme of activities to support teaching staff
The NEOLAiA Pedagogical Hub is launching a new series of online activities this semester, focusing on key issues related to teaching in an international context. Co-organised by the universities of the NEOLAiA Alliance, these activities reflect a shared commitment to professional development, exchange of practices and pedagogical collaboration. The working language for all activities is English.Programme for the coming months:
Teaching Café n°2 – “Assessing International Student Groups”
2 February 2026, 13:00–14:00 (CET)
An online session dedicated to the assessment of international student groups, featuring contributions from colleagues from Universidad de Jaén, Spain, and Ostravská univerzita, Czech Republic, followed by an open discussion.
Workshop – “Diversity & Inclusion Practices in Higher Education”
19 February 2026, 15:00–17:00 (CET)
An interactive workshop, co-facilitated by the NEOLAiA Diversity and Inclusion Working Group and Laura Tufano, Research Fellow at Università degli Studi di Salerno, Italy, aimed at exploring and sharing inclusive practices developed across NEOLAiA partner universities.
Webinaire – “What can teachers do to enhance rather than challenge student mental health?”

Webinar – “How to manage interculturality in your class?”
